Barbecue Boogie- Curvy Cruise to Haywood Smokehouse, Waynesville
The best barbecue I’ve found in the South is at Haywood Smokehouse in Waynesville
(technically Hazeiwood, a suburb village). Being from Kansas City, I’m a connoisseur. This
is a fun drive for some great food.
Thursday, August 20. Meet at 9ish, roll by about 9:l5ish. Place opens at 11, always busy,
we’re advised to arrive on the early side.
We’ll start from Holly Springs country store again, at the intersection of 11 and 178. Up
178 to Rosman, there we will turn left at the light (Main), left at the next stop sign (to rejoin
178), left again at the next stop sign onto US 64. A short distance later, we’ll turn right onto
215. There are a few turns at the end, this will highlight those intersections.
